Adoption Process

If you do not see your new best friend on our list, you can contact us, and we will keep an eye out for the friend you are looking for!
- First step is to decide if you are ready for a long term commitment owning a dog. Ask yourself if you are ready for vet bills, cost of food, training the dog, and what would happen to him/her if you became ill.
- Once you have decided you are ready for the commitment, the next step is to come to an adoption show and meet the dog you are interested in. Sometimes people fall in love with a picture, only to find another dog at the show better suits what they are looking for.
- Please remember to bring all family members, including dog(s), who live at the home to meet the new dog. We do not adopt out dogs as gifts.
- After you have found your new best friend you will then be required to fill out an application. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and if renting, have landlord approval, along with a copy of the lease.
- After application is complete, a home check will be scheduled.
- If there are multiple applications on a dog, it is then up to the foster parent & board to make a decision on the best home for the dog. If your home is not chosen, it does not mean you are not a suitable adopter for one of our dogs. We make our decisions based on the best fit for that particular dog. But let’s face it, the dog is the one who usually chooses his/her fur-ever home! But we will keep your application on file, and if we have another dog you are interested in, we will then consider you as a potential adopter for that dog.
STEPS TO ADOPTION
PUPPIES up to 7 Months: $300
PUPPIES & DOGS 7 Months & Up: $250
** Fee includes getting the puppy/dog up to date on rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccines, fecal test and deworming if necessary, heartworm test, spay or neuter (does NOT including pre-surgical bloodwork) and a microchip. Free access to our weekly training classes is also included for the life of the dog, something no other rescue in the area offers.**
ADOPTION FEES
If you are interested in any of our wonderful dogs, you may fill out a Pre-Adoption Application and bring it with you when you meet the dog at our next adoption event!
This will save time from filling it out at the adoption show.
