Chicagoland Dog Rescue Featured Dogs

Any Breed. Any Size. Any Age. Any Reason.

BREED: English Pointer
AGE: 3 years old
SEX: Female
BIO: A lot of things have happened in the past year. Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar for Best Actor. Stranger Things debuted on Netflix and brought a whole new meaning to the term “binge-watching.” In the past year, the Cubs won the World Series, we inaugurated a new president, and the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead to bring the New England Patriots another Super Bowl Championship. For the past year, I have lived with a foster family in the care of Chicagoland Dog Rescue.  And as much as my foster Mom loves me, the longer I stay with her  other dogs go without a foster home.
March 17th marked  one year since  I was surrendered to CDR.  For 365+ days, me and my foster Mom and CDR have  wondered when my  forever family will come for me!  I’m a 3  year old English Pointer who earned my name being as pretty and sweet as the first rose of summer.  I was an owner surrender who is crate trained and has come a long way with her house manners.  I have seen dozens of dogs come and go since I’ve been with CDR and week after week I patiently wait at the adoption events hoping someone will choose me.
If you visit me at an adoption event, you’ll find me curled up on my blanket, relaxing with a toy or two. But give me some room and watch me run! Due to my breed, I am a naturally an active dog. I like to run and play and would do best in a home with the space and company that will allow me to do so.  No electric fences for me!  I’m so fast, they won’t slow me down, let alone stop me!   I am very loyal and very sweet.  However, I do like to be the alpha dog.  So a home with a dog  who is more submissive or a home where I can be the only dog is ideal!  (No cats for me!  I think they are something fun to chase!)

Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs

Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork.  Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs aged 7 months and up and $300 for puppies.  The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.

All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL

Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers!  Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever.  A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.

Details on our training program can be found here.
