Fletcher

Fletcher1BREED: Beagle Mix
SEX: Male
AGE: 1 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Fletcher.  I'm a young guy who was found as a stray and no one came looking for me.   Now I'm here looking for a new home!  I'm VERY sweet and kinda of a couch potato but like any beagle, I do like to use my nose.  I get along well with some of the dogs at my foster home but some of the younger guys don't like me much. What I do love the most, is snuggling with my foster Mom.  I haven't been at her house for very long, so we are working on crate and potty training but I was recently neutered.
XOXOXO-Fletcher
(PS-I hope my new family finds me quick!)

Ally-adoption pending

allyBREED: Border Collie Mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 10 months
COMMENTS:  Hi, my name is Ally.  I’m a small girl for a border collie mix, only weighing in at around 30 pounds.  I won’t get much taller than I am now and should fill out a little but I LOVE treats, so you will have to watch my weight!  I walk pretty well on a leash and I don’t mind being in the crate.  I am good with other dogs and generally follow their lead. I seem to think I’m a lap dog but I might be a little too big for that.  I’m a pretty quiet, shy girl but I warm up quickly.  I am definitely a people pleaser and will do my best to follow the training you give me.  I’m looking for my dream family and I hope someone thinks I’m their dream dog!  My pictures don’t do me justice since I’m unsure of the camera, but when you see me in person, you will see my beautiful eyes and thick soft coat.

Dreaming of the great life and hope it gets here soon….Ally

Dolce

dolce2BREED:   Pekingese/Pomeranian mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 2 year old
COMMENTS: Hello—My name is Dolce.  I am a 2 year old Peekinese/Pomaranian mix.  I only weigh 10 lbs.  I am a little ball of fluff.  I came to CDR because I was not a good fit for my family.  They have 2 small children and I just get nervous and snappy around them.

My foster mom says I am a sweet, cuddly, playful little girl.  She also says that I am good with the other 3 dogs in her house (all under 25 lbs) and has been good with her cat too. My foster mom says that I need a family without children (as that was my problem with my first family).  I also need my people to work with me. I am crate trained, and have been successful at my foster mom’s house with housebreaking.  My foster mom says that I need someone that can provide me with structure and consistence to help me.

If you think I could be your next BFF, contact Chicagoland Dog Rescue as soon as possible.  CDR wants me to find my new special person as much as I want to find my new home.  Maybe you are that person?

Love,

Dolce

Benny

newbeny1BREED:  Terrier Mix
SEX:  Male
AGE: 5 years
COMMENTS: Hi.  I am Benny.  I am a little shy when I first meet people, but once I get to know them (5-10 minutes), I want to be their best friend. My foster mom wants you to know that I am a terrier mix, about 5 years old, about 21 lbs, crate trained and housebroken.
I was a stray in Southern Illinois.  I was kept at a shelter for several weeks, but then CDR came into the picture.  When I came to them I was not feeling very well and I looked pretty bad too (as you can tell from picture 3).  I have bad ear infections and did not want anyone to touch me.  I am now on medicine for my ear infections and am feeling some better. I now love to be pet, but still not thrilled with being brushed.  My foster mom says that I follow her around like a little puppy dog. (I am right beside my foster mom right now as she is doing her typing.)
She wants you to know that I have been good with the other small dogs at her house, good with her cat, and good with all the people that live at the house and their visitors.  She also said that I would do best in a home that does not have small children as I tend to be a little sensitive to hard touch.
If you could find room in your heart and home for me, I could be YOUR best friend.  If you think that I could be the one for you, please contact CDR as soon as possible.  I really would like to meet you.
XOXOXO-BENNY

SEX: Male
AGE: 1.5 years
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Maverick.  Who would think that such a "cute as a button" boy, (my foster Mom's words ), like me would be on death row at a high kill shelter in Kentucky?  I was found as a stray and no one came to find me.  So, I was number 16 on the list ….but my foster Mom saved me in the nick of time and now I'm looking for a new furever home.  I'm not a very large boy for a lab mix, only weighing in at 50 pounds.  And, I'm a perfect age…. one and half years old.  Plenty of time to work with me in training to help me become your dream dog!  Come meet me at the adoption event and you'll see what a great dog I am!

Bear-adoption pending

Bear3BREED: Great Pyreness
SEX: Male
AGE: 4 years old
COMMENTS:  My name is Bear and I'm a 4 year old Great Pyrenees looking for a loving family. I love taking long walks and going for car rides. I'm a perfect gentleman when I visit the groomer or vet.
I would like a calm dog friend and a couple of kids to watch over. I adore children. I've gone to doggie daycare and have done very well. You could say that I'm a giant love bug cheeky. A nice big yard to romp around in would be a plus.  I am crate trained but don't  require one as I am nondestructive in the house. Great Pyrenees are a very special breed. Please read up on us to see if I might be the dog of your dreams.  Breed experience is a plus. We can be sometimes very stubborn and like to get our way.  We are very loyal and loving dogs.
Stop by and see me at our next adoption event.

Lucky

luckyBREED: Dachshund/Chinese Crested
SEX: Male
AGE: 2 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Lucky.  I am an extremely cute, 2 year old, 10 pound, Dachshund/Chinese Crested boy.  Even with such a great name, things weren’t always so great for me.  My family gave me up because the mean kids in the neighborhood teased me and I didn’t like that at all!  I growled and snapped at them.  Now I find myself look for a new home and hoping my luck will change!  I have been with other dogs and cats and done very well with them. And most importantly, I am housebroken, neutered and up to date on my shots!  What more you ask for! My foster Mom wants me to tell you that I am wary of strangers and will growl because I’m afraid. Since I’ve been at her house, I have not snapped at any one. I growl for a couple of minutes when I first meet new people, after that I know they are ok.
If you think that I might be your new best friend, please contact Chicagoland Dog Rescue!

Lucky

COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Sadie. Let me tell you a little about me:  I am 1 yr. and 4 mos. old – 76 lbs. and in great health!  I thought I found my forever home but my 8 year old yellow lab step sister and I fight for our mom’s attention.  I am very loyal, loving and very smart. I do well in training classes.  I don’t cause any problems except I need to be the center of attention when I live with other dogs.  I offer lots of love and affection and hope to find someone who sees how truly special I am.    I am looking for someone who will give me a lot of love and work with me in training with CDR – I have a lot to offer the right person. I will be your best buddy……

COMMENTS:  Hi, my name is Spike.  Kinda of a great name , don't ya think?  I am an owner give up as the result of a humane investigation which in plain English means my former home wasn't to good!  My foster Mom says I'm your typical hound, wandering around, sniffing everything in sight. I am housebroken and crate trained AND  I am good with kids! While i get along great with my foster brother and sister, I not a fond of every dog.  A home all to myself sounds great to me!  One of my favorite things to do is to hang with my foster Mom.  Wherever she goes, I go too!  If you're looking for a new friend who will be a great companion, PICK ME, PICK ME, PICK ME!

Comments: Hello friends, I’m Lily! I love my family dearly, but they are no longer able to keep me so they’re helping me find my new forever home.  I’m not able to get much exercise these days, so I’m full of energy and ready to play. I love dogs and ADORE KIDS but cats scare me! I’d be a great fit for a family who has time to take me on walks and play with me. I eat grain free food (I’m not picky, I have an allergy!), I’m spayed and housebroken and come with my crate. Do you have room in your heart for me? If so, please call or email CDR  to meet me!

SEX: Male
AGE: 1 1/2 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Henri.  I am a Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) who has a beautiful silver coat with gold markings.  Kinda of ritzy for a boy who was found wandering the streets of Humboldt Park!.  The very kind woman who found me took good care of  me until CDR found a great foster home for me.  I have been to the vet, gotten all my shots and been neutered.
I was evaluated by CDR’s trainer with treats and other dogs.  I did great with treats but did initially bark at the other dogs.  I did listen to the corrections and then wanted to play.  Speaking of playing, I love people and am great with kids. I am currently living in a home with other dogs and a cat and we all get along wonderfully! I don't like being in my crate but my foster Mom is working on it with me.
If you are interested in meetingme, your new best friend, please contact CDR by phone or e-mail!

Tia

Tiapuggle100BREED: Puggle
SEX: Female
AGE: 5years
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Tia.  I am a very, sweet and loving dog.  I love the humans in my life like no other dog can.  All you have to do is look at the way I look at my foster mom.  I love her and she is the best! I have a lot of energy and must find a home with a fenced yard.  Yards make me happy…I can spend hours out there just walking around and sniffing things.  This is a great way to keep me out of trouble!  I love to play fetch and would make an awesome agility dog with the right training.
I am a bossy kinda of girl who tends to not listen to younger kids, I steal their food, and jump all over them, so a home with kids under 12 is out for me.  I have a mind of my own and am very smart.  In the past, I had learned how to get away with things but through training, I have learned some great new behaviors.  I am looking for a strong pack leader that will reinforce that training or I will revert back to my old ways. I am also looking for someone who will give me time and understand that I’m just testing things out and not give up on me! I am crate trained and overall pretty quiet.  I come with training classes that you must attend to keep me on track. I love going to doggie day care but I am known as a rough player. I had a best friend/foster brother Taz ( a rat terrier) who liked to play that way, so we got along great!   I can also be a couch potato and just be content to lick peanut butter out of my Kong (favorite thing on this earth!) I hope to find a home of my own with own people soon…I’m tired of being the foster dog and not the family dog!
Sadly but patiently waiting for my forever home-Tia

Lloyd-I won’t be at adoptions. Please e-mail or call with inquiries!

LOOKING FOR: FOSTER/FUR-EVER HOME

Breed: Rottweiler Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 years
Comments:  Sponsored by RJW Transport
***No small kids, As only pet***

Hi. My name is Lloyd and I am a recovering nipper. From the time I was just a pup, all the humans I knew didn’t treat me very nicely and the only way I could defend myself was to nip at them. I meant them no harm, but I didn’t want them to hurt me anymore, either.

Then the CDR (Chicagoland Dog Rescue) folks took me in.  They figured out super fast that I am really smart, full of energy, a great student and a hard worker.  They placed me with a trainer who specializes in cases like mine, and he brags about what great progress I’ve made.

According to him, I am a Rottweiler mix, about 2-3 years old and I weigh about 55 pounds. My ideal home would be with someone who has experience with a high-energy dog who’s still working on getting his trust and confidence back to where they should be.

It would be great if I could be the only dog in the house, ‘cause that way my master and I could work really hard together to make CDR and my trainer even more proud of me!
