Red

Red1BREED: Lab Mix
SEX: Male
AGE: 2 years old
COMMENTS: Hi!  My name is Red.  I'm a lab mix from southern Illinois where I was an outside dog.  Right now, I'm a little underweight which works out well since I think I'm a lap dog!  My foster Mom thinks I'm a real sweetheart!  I love to cuddle, I walk well on a leash, and I'm crate trained.  I get along great with my foster dog sister and foster dog brother.  I love being in the backyard and like to play with toys.  I am a very gentle boy so would work well for everyone, including a family with kids.
'Tis the seasons for miracles and new beginning….I might just be yours!
XOXOXO

Roscoe-adoption pending

roscoe2BREED: Dacshund
SEX: Male
AGE: 2 years old
COMMENTS:  Hi!  My name is Roscoe and I’m looking for a new home!  My family is moving very far away to Japan and I would have to live in quarantine for at least 2 months and my family knows that would make me very sad.  I love kids and other dogs and being away from people would be too hard.  I am a sweet natured, slightly shy boy.  I am crate trained, housebroken and VERY calm, not much of a barker at all!   I would love to find my new home for Christmas….that would be the best present ever!
Lot of Love,
Roscoe

Bella (3)-adoption pending

Bella(3)1BREED:  Shiba Inu/Cocker Spaniel Mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 5 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Bella.  I am a 5 year old and 24 pounds.  I am a very healthy girl and up to date on my shots. I have lived with my family since I was a puppy.  My owners think I’m a great dog, have passed my obedience training, don’t mind being crated and I’m housebroken!  The vet and the dog groomer are my friends!  I love riding in the car, playing ball and will need a daily walk! I live in a house with another dog and a cat and I get along fine with them.  I even like the other dogs I meet on walks.
I have lived with a boy since he was five and I was a puppy.  I never had any problems with him.  My owners noticed later that I was unsure of small children when we met them on our outings.  Since then, my family has had a new baby and I get VERY anxious when the baby cries!  My family has worked with an in home trainer and the trainer thinks a home with children 10 years old and up would be best for me.  My family is heartbroken but for the safety of the new baby , I will need to find a new home. Come see me at adoptions to see if you could be my new family!
XOXOXOXO-Bella

FrankieBREED: Golden/Husky Mix
SEX: Male
AGE: 2-3 years old
COMMENTS: Hi! My name is Frankie and I am a 2-3 year old Golden mix…I am a sweet, shy fellow with a beautiful, thick,  golden color coat. I was found as a stray and no one came to find me so I ended up in the cold city shelter. Now, I am looking for a new home! I love the snow and outdoors. I would be a great hiking companion and I love to walk and walk.  Do you like to walk too? Maybe we could walk together? – I really am hoping for a family of my own.  The Husky in me definitely needs exercise! And Husky can be diggers…but I am incredibly sweet and will do great with the training that is provided by CDR.  I love other dog and I love people. And I would love for you to come and see me at adoptions!

Petey-I won’t be at adoptions! Please call or e-mail with questions!

peteyBREED: Chihuahua/Terrier Mix
SEX: Male
AGE: 6 years
COMMENTS: Hello.  My name is Petey.  I had a home that I shared with my family until a couple of weeks ago.  Then they needed to find me a new home as the landlord said they could no longer keep me.  Then Chicagoland Dog Rescue said they would find me a good new home.  I am now at my foster mom’s house, and adjusting very well.  It takes me a few minutes to warm up to people, but then I just want to sit with them and let them pet me, and pet me, and pet me.  I am doing well with the 2 smaller dogs in my foster home. My foster mom says that I am 6 year old, Chihuahua/Terrier mix that is housebroken, crate trained, and an easy to take care of little boy.  I only weigh 14 lbs, but I have long legs so I do look bigger.
If you think you might be that new home that I have been looking for, please contact Chicagoland Dog Rescue.  Hope to hear from you soon.
Love,
Petey

Rambler

rambler4BREED: Yellow Lab Mix
SEX: Male
AGE: 1-2 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, my name is Rambler.  I came to CDR from a high shelter that was very stressful and made me very sad…I’m in a foster home now while looking for a new family of my own. I really love to lay in the sun and if you throw in a nice belly rub…I’m in heaven!  I know you will see that I am the happiest boy ever even though I don’t have a long tail to show it.  No tail, just a cute, little nub.   I love people and other dogs and hope I can find a great new family quick!

Jack-I won’t be at adoption! Please call or e-mail with questions!

jack2BREED: American Eskimo
SEX: Male
AGE: 9 years old
COMMENTS: Hi.  My name is Jack.  I came to Chicagoland Dog Rescue because my family could no longer keep me.  My owner remarried, and I no longer fit in the mix of the new family.  I am 9 years old, 21 lbs., miniature American Eskimo.  I get along with other dogs and so far at my new foster mom’s house I have not reacted to the cats.  I am housebroken and crate trained.  I enjoy being outside, but I need some training going for walks (I like to bark at cars, bikes, and skateboards).  I know sit, down, and stay commands.  I love to cuddle with my friends as they are watching TV. I would do best in a home without little children, as they just move too fast for me.   When being introduced to new people,  I need to be introduced slowly as I do get a little scared of new people.  But once we are friends, we are GOOD FRIENDS.  If you think you would be a good home for me, please contact Chicagoland Dog Rescue.
I am really looking forward to meeting you.

SEX: Male
AGE: 9 years old
COMMENTS: Hi, My name is Luckie and I was one lucky dog.  My owner got me as a puppy and has given me a great home but as time has gone by I got to be a big boy and her health has changed.  Now, my dear friend and CDR are trying to help me find a new home for the next part of my journey.  I tried living with a family  that had a puppy and that wasn’t too great.  Puppies are busy and jumpy and just too much for me!  I would like to be in a home with just me,the star of the show.   I am housebroken, calm, good with children and full of love.  Do you think you could be that home for me? :) Luckie

Tia-I won’t be at adoptions this week! Please call or e-mail with questions!

Tiapuggle100BREED: Puggle
SEX: Female
AGE: 1 1/2 years
COMMENTS:

I am Tia and I love everything or at least everything I have seen so far. Children make my tail go really fast because I want to play with them. However, I need to be placed in a home with older children because I need to know boundaries and younger children cannot tell me what those are. This does not mean that I cannot be around little kids. It just means on a daily basis it would not be a good idea because I will learn to take advantage of them and get my way, which goes against my training.  I like doggies too and I have been in daycare with other doggies of all shapes and sizes. I love attention…kind of a hog that way.

tia2puggle101Did you know a large fenced in area is a ton of fun to zoom around in…love that ALOT!!!! However, I do not need one, but it would be nice. I have had some very specific training and you can take a class or two to learn how to continue this at your house. I can sit, lay down, stay, heal and I understand no. This does not mean I always listen though. I slip up every now and then and forget when I get excited. I am very friendly and just love any attention that one gives to me. I love toys too. See I love everything…life is so much fun.
Hugs Tia

Lloyd-I won’t be at adoptions. Please e-mail or call with inquiries!

LOOKING FOR: FOSTER/FUR-EVER HOME

Breed: Rottweiler Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 years
Comments:  Sponsored by RJW Transport
***No small kids, As only pet***

Hi. My name is Lloyd and I am a recovering nipper. From the time I was just a pup, all the humans I knew didn’t treat me very nicely and the only way I could defend myself was to nip at them. I meant them no harm, but I didn’t want them to hurt me anymore, either.

Then the CDR (Chicagoland Dog Rescue) folks took me in.  They figured out super fast that I am really smart, full of energy, a great student and a hard worker.  They placed me with a trainer who specializes in cases like mine, and he brags about what great progress I’ve made.

According to him, I am a Rottweiler mix, about 2-3 years old and I weigh about 55 pounds. My ideal home would be with someone who has experience with a high-energy dog who’s still working on getting his trust and confidence back to where they should be.

It would be great if I could be the only dog in the house, ‘cause that way my master and I could work really hard together to make CDR and my trainer even more proud of me!
