SEX: Female
AGE: 3-4 years old
COMMENTS:  Hi, my name is Ginger and I weigh about 59 pounds.  I must have had a family as some point because I know basic commands like sit, come and down but when I was found as a stray in Danville, IL, no one came to find me frown.  I am a very easy going girl, a great listener, and I get along with other dogs and even cats! If you are looking for a laid back girl, I’m her!  Hope to see you at adoptions soon…

Jack

jack2BREED: American Eskimo
SEX: Male
AGE: 9 years old
COMMENTS: Hi.  My name is Jack.  I came to Chicagoland Dog Rescue because my family could no longer keep me.  My owner remarried, and I no longer fit in the mix of the new family.  I am 9 years old, 21 lbs., miniature American Eskimo.  I get along with other dogs and so far at my new foster mom’s house I have not reacted to the cats.  I am housebroken and crate trained.  I enjoy being outside, but I need some training going for walks (I like to bark at cars, bikes, and skateboards).  I know sit, down, and stay commands.  I love to cuddle with my friends as they are watching TV. I would do best in a home without little children, as they just move too fast for me.   When being introduced to new people,  I need to be introduced slowly as I do get a little scared of new people.  But once we are friends, we are GOOD FRIENDS.  If you think you would be a good home for me, please contact Chicagoland Dog Rescue.
I am really looking forward to meeting you.

Bella

bella1BREED: Chihuahua/ Rat Terrier Mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 6 years old
COMMENTS:  Hi, my name is Bella.  I’m a small girl weighing in at about 12lbs and  I’m six years old.  I find myself  in the unfortunate position of having to find a new home as my owner is older with medical issues  and  is  no longer able to care for me.  I am house broken but will use a puppy pad  as  my owner is no longer able to take me out due to her mobility issues. I’m a little shy at first but once I  warm up, I will be your BEST FRIEND! I get along well with other dogs, especially since I have lived with another dog  most of my life.  I have lived in apartment up to now.  I do have good leash manners and  really enjoy a nice walk. If you are interested in a sweet girl like me, please email or call Chicagoland Dog Rescue.
I’ll be waiting! XOXOXO-Bella

tasha3BREED: Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier Mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 3 1/2 years old
COMMENTS:  Hi, my name is Tasha and I’m looking for a new home.  I ‘m only 3 ½ years old and weigh about 12 lbs.  After my first owner passed away, a very nice lady  adopted  me.  Unfortunately, my new owner has gotten older and developed  many medical issues and is no longer able to care for me.  I am housebroken but have learned to use a puppy pad as my owner  is unable to take me outside due to her mobility issues. I’m good with other dogs and just recently met a cat.  I’m told I behaved very well!  I am a little shy and will need a person who is willing to let me warm up to them and not try to force me. I walk well on a leash and really enjoy a nice walk.  Furry toys are some of my favorite things!
If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet, shy little girl….I”M HER!  Please email or call Chicagoland Dog Rescue for more information.  I’ll be waiting!

Lilly-adoption pending

lillyBREED: Rat Terrier Mix
SEX: Female
AGE: 1-2 years
COMMENTS: I had a home a few months ago until I had my puppies. My former owners didn’t wish to deal with the situation, so they put us in a high kill shelter. The shelter requested help, and within a few days we left Kentucky on our journey to a foster home in Illinois. My babies (Izzy, Abby, Mia, and Taz) are old enough to be on their own now, so it’s my turn to find my forever home! The thought of some peace and quiet without 4 puppies trying to nurse when all I want is to sleep sounds like heaven. When I am not so tired, I like to play with my foster mom (and sometimes the pups) and take long walks with her. I love to sit on laps, but the couch is the second favorite spot. It is my foster mom's belief that I would do best in a house without very young children that will grab at me. Too many hands grabbing at me scares me and makes me jump a mile high.

lilly3

I am a terrier, which means I will let you know when something is not right by barking. Apartment living most likely would not be a good situation. I am very lovable and like to cuddle. I walk pretty well on a leash; I’m crate trained and house broken. I’m a small 15 pound girl who is out of the puppy stage. I’m really looking for is someone to pet and love all over me. I will not be available to be adopted out until after August 14th because my foster mom says I need to teach the young ones manners, and also be spayed.

XOXOX Lilly

COMMENTS: Hi, My name is Luckie and I was one lucky dog.  My owner got me as a puppy and has given me a great home but as time has gone by I got to be a big boy and her health has changed.  Now, my dear friend and CDR are trying to help me find a new home for the next part of my journey.  I tried living with a family  that had a puppy and that wasn’t too great.  Puppies are busy and jumpy and just too much for me!  I would like to be in a home with just me or older dogs.   I am housebroken, calm, good with children and full of love.  Do you think you could be that home for me? :) Luckie

Tia-I won’t be at adoptions this week! Please call or e-mail with questions!

Tiapuggle100BREED: Puggle
SEX: Female
AGE: 1 1/2 years
COMMENTS:

I am Tia and I love everything or at least everything I have seen so far. Children make my tail go really fast because I want to play with them. However, I need to be placed in a home with older children because I need to know boundaries and younger children cannot tell me what those are. This does not mean that I cannot be around little kids. It just means on a daily basis it would not be a good idea because I will learn to take advantage of them and get my way, which goes against my training.  I like doggies too and I have been in daycare with other doggies of all shapes and sizes. I love attention…kind of a hog that way.

tia2puggle101Did you know a large fenced in area is a ton of fun to zoom around in…love that ALOT!!!! However, I do not need one, but it would be nice. I have had some very specific training and you can take a class or two to learn how to continue this at your house. I can sit, lay down, stay, heal and I understand no. This does not mean I always listen though. I slip up every now and then and forget when I get excited. I am very friendly and just love any attention that one gives to me. I love toys too. See I love everything…life is so much fun.
Hugs Tia

Lloyd-I won’t be at adoptions. Please e-mail or call with inquiries!

LOOKING FOR: FOSTER/FUR-EVER HOME

Breed: Rottweiler Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 years
Comments:  Sponsored by RJW Transport
***No small kids, As only pet***

Hi. My name is Lloyd and I am a recovering nipper. From the time I was just a pup, all the humans I knew didn’t treat me very nicely and the only way I could defend myself was to nip at them. I meant them no harm, but I didn’t want them to hurt me anymore, either.

Then the CDR (Chicagoland Dog Rescue) folks took me in.  They figured out super fast that I am really smart, full of energy, a great student and a hard worker.  They placed me with a trainer who specializes in cases like mine, and he brags about what great progress I’ve made.

According to him, I am a Rottweiler mix, about 2-3 years old and I weigh about 55 pounds. My ideal home would be with someone who has experience with a high-energy dog who’s still working on getting his trust and confidence back to where they should be.

It would be great if I could be the only dog in the house, ‘cause that way my master and I could work really hard together to make CDR and my trainer even more proud of me!
