Abner-adopted

BREED: Hound Mix
AGE: 16 weeks
SEX: Male
BIO:  Hi, my name is Abner and aren’t I so handsome!  My foster mom says I am very energetic and playful and I will need a FUREVER family that can really exercise me to keep us all happy! I am working on potty training and leash training and so far I have been doing really well. I have met lots of kids of all ages and I love them. I just want to be loved by everyone!  I am in a home with another dog and I love to play with him. I have to admit that I can be a little scared when first I meet a new dog , so a calm, very dog friendly dog would work best for me. I am crate training and only wake up 1 time a night to go potty and than I go right  back in my crate. I sometimes cry a little bit but that is just because I am a baby and want to be with my humans….don’t worry I stop after just a few short minutes. I know with lots of love, exercise and training I will grow up to be a great boy!  If you are interested in meeting me,  please fill out the pre application or send an email and a CDR volunteer will get back to just as quick as they can!

Start The Adoption Process Today

Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!

Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs

Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork.  Our adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs aged 7 months and up and $375 for puppies.  The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.

All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL

Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers!  Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever.  A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.

Details on our training program can be found here.
