Salem-adopted

BREED: Terrier Mix (?)
AGE: 14 weeks
SEX: Female
BIO: Hi, my name is Salem! I am a small ball of fluffy fur and sweetness! My foster Mom says I am an adorable, playful puppy. I am almost house-trained, I haven’t had an accident in over a week. I have never had an accident in my crate and sleep through the night (~11pm to 7am). I am teething and love to chew on things and that includes shoe laces, too so I am hoping for a home that will have lots of right things to chew on! I have totally mastered climbing up and down 14 stairs, which is AMAZING! I LOVE playing in the yard, am happy to hop through the snow and capture any leaves and twigs I can find! I tend to get a case of the wiggles several times a day and love chasing and wagging my tail. I would do best in a home with older kids because I can be a little nippy when excited. Like all puppies, I am looking for a person or family who will take the time to continue working on training with me so I can be a wonderful new roommate, give me lots of love so I will feel secure, and have lots of patience for any mistakes I might make! If you would like to meet me, please send an email or fill out a pre adoption application and a CDR volunteer will get back to just as quick as they can!

Start The Adoption Process Today

Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!

Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs

Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork.  Our adoption fee is  $400 for dogs over 1 year and $450 for puppies up to a year.  The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.

All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL

Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers!  Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever.  A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.

Details on our training program can be found here.
