Any Breed. Any Size. Any Age. Any Reason.

BREED:  Tessa
AGE:  18 weeks
SEX:  Female
BIO:  Hey there, my name is Tessa. I am a spunky, rabbit-hopping, happy-go-lucky pit bull mix who just LOVES to play. I love breakfast time, snack time, dinner time and after dinner time! Bully sticks, peanut butter filled kongs, chew toys, squeaky toys, teething toys –I do NOT discriminate: I love them all! I like my crate but would much rather sleep on my foster mommy’s cat tree. I also just loooooooooove to play with my sisters Teagon and Tasha. I’m learning how to play with children as well and my foster mommies nieces say that I’m the best puppy in the world. I can be just a little bit mouthy—a small correction will settle me down. I like car rides and will settle down in a jiffy and I am learning sit but have mastered going up the stairs! So that is one of my best achievements to date! I only get up once or twice during the night, or not at all. I am a little vocal, but it’s only my way of telling you that I’m happy and wanting to play. I like to go on walks, love to chase things and I’m learning to not pull on a leash. I am learning how to go potty outside, but it is still a work in progress. I LOVE exploring new things, and even though it sometimes seems scary to me, I keep trying to overcome them! I love to lick a peanut buttered filled Kong, love to chew on my toys, try to play with my foster momma’s cat and play play play with my sisters! Like all puppies, I am seeking a family or person that will be patient with me, give me lots and lots of their time, even more love and just as much training! I promise that with love, patience, time and training, I will end up becoming the best puppy ever! Just like my sisters, Teagon and Tasha, I am learning how to become a puppy and will need consistency, love, patience and lots of cuddles and praises. My foster mommy says that I will do best with another dog, or even a dog-friendly cat to continue teaching me the ins and outs of being a great addition to my forever family. If you would like to meet me, please send an email or fill out a pre-adoption application. A CDR volunteer will get back to you as quickly as they can!

Start The Adoption Process Today

Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!

Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs

Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork.  Our adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs aged 7 months and up and $375 for puppies.  The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.

All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL

Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers!  Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever.  A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.

Details on our training program can be found here.
