BREED: Jack Russell Terrier
AGE: 8 weeks
BIO: Hi, my name is Murphy and I am a tiny bundle of LOVE! I was found as a stray when I was about 6 weeks old, left behind to make it on my own! A kind stranger found me and took me to a rescue where they noticed that I don’t see so well. But that has not slowed me down one bit! I am very funny, very adventurous, and VERY cuddly. I love to play, play, play and then take a long nap. If you let me, it would be in your arms, across your chest, or snuggled in at your side. While my vision may be limited, my hearing is excellent and if you call my name, I will coming running right to you. I love exploring in the big backyard at my foster home and true to my Jack Russell nature, I get the smell of something and want to dig, dig, dig. I will stop if you tell me but digging in wood chips can be so much fun! If my foster Mom had one word to describe me, she would say that I am BOUNCY ! Oh, and very SMART! Jack Russell terrier and Jack mixes do NOT do well with cats or other small animals and are quite noisy when bored! I would do best in a home with limited time left alone, especially until I am fully potty trained.
Like all puppies, I will need lots of patience, lots of love and lots of training to help me be your new best friend. If you think you can look past my vision issues and would like to meet me, please call, email or better yet, fill out a pre application and a CDR volunteer will get back to you as quick as quick can be!

Start The Adoption Process Today
Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!
Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs
Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork. Our adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs aged 7 months and up and $375 for puppies. The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.
All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.
Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL
Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers! Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever. A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.
Details on our training program can be found here.
