BREED: Terrier/Border Collie
AGE: 6 months
BIO: Hi, my name is Baxter and I sure am one cute little pup! No one is exactly sure of my breed mix but best guess is a terrier of some sort mixed with a border collie? Whatever it is, it has sure made one cutie pie boy!!! I came up to Chicago with my Mom Ellie and my sister Molly to find our great new homes! I am the shy one of the three and take my time before I know I can trust you. Once I do, we are friends! I do love to play with my foster brother and sister who are twice my size and I share a crate with my sister. I am definitely an fan of other dogs! I am working hard at this potty training thing! Not always perfect but getting better every day…Like all puppies, I will need lots of love, lots of patience and lots of training to help me be the best boy in town. If you would like to meet me, please call or email or fill out the preapplication and a CDR volunteer will get back to you just as quick as they can!

Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!
Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs
Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork. Our adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs aged 7 months and up and $375 for puppies. The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.
All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.
Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL
Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers! Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever. A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.
Details on our training program can be found here.
