Chopper

BREED:  American Bulldog/ Pit Mix
AGE: 2.5 years old
SEX: Male
BIO:  Hi, my name is Chopper or Chop as my foster Mom calls me!  I was an owner surrender who ended up at the very scary city shelter.  I sat there waiting for my former person to come back to get me, but they never did.  I was pretty skittish when I got to my foster home but now I am settling in nicely.  My foster Mom says I am a real sweetheart!  I think I am a lap dog and will fall asleep with my head in her lap any chance I can get.  I am in foster home with two other fur sisters.  Rosie is quite particular about who she makes friends with but I think I may be starting to charm them both! What can I bring to a new family? Well, I  am crate trained and potty trained and neutered and up to date on all my shots! I have lots of love to give and will greet you always with a wagging tail.  What am I looking for in a new furever home? I would like lots of cuddles and a gentle hand to pet me, a person or people to play and walk with,  and a soft place to lay my head at night. And someone who will do some training with me so I know the boundaries and can fit well into your home!  If you would be interested in meeting me, please fill out a pre adoption application or send an email and my foster Mom will get back to you just as quick as she can!
XOXOXO-Chop

Start The Adoption Process Today

Begin by filling out an adoption application and we start pairing you with your perfect pooch!

Chicagoland Dog Rescue Dogs

Our trained volunteers will determine which home among all applicants is the best fit for the dog, and the dog will be brought back to complete the adoption paperwork.  Our adoption fee is  $400 for dogs over 1 year and $450 for puppies up to a year.  The fee covers the cost of all medical care including all legally required inoculations, a fecal test and deworming (if required), spaying or neutering, and a microchip. Lifetime training is also included.

All our dogs have all legally required preventative inoculations, are microchipped and are spayed or neutered to control the repetitive birth cycle that produces more unwanted dogs. Most have been rescued from kill shelters in the Midwest, so their exact breed and age is often unknown. All dogs have been medically or emotionally rehabilitated as needed and are temperament tested to assess their fit with other dogs, cats and children.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue reserves the right to restrict adoption of a dog to potential adopters who live within a fifty (50) mile radius of Schaumburg, IL

Weekly socialization and basic obedience training is offered to all adopters FREE OF CHARGE for the lifetime of the dog, something no other group offers!  Training is crucial for happy dogs and ensures that our adopted dogs remain in their happy households forever.  A minimum of 4 training sessions is required for all adopted dogs.

Details on our training program can be found here.
